Group Getaway

Brighton is the ideal place for a group getaway. We are located within walking distance of all the best restaurants, bars, shops and the beach. Here are 6 things to do in Brighton if you’re looking for a girl’s weekend away, a work bonding trip or a fun reunion.

  1. Brunch, absolutely

The best way to start the day, brunch in Brighton. A few of our favourites include Meanwhile Café which is just on the ground floor of the hotel. You can also add this to your hotel booking! There is something for everyone on this great brunch menu and ingredients are sourced locally where possible. Jo & Co which is run by husband-and-wife team who both have a strong background in managing restaurants. The restaurant has a lovely, welcoming feel and an excellent brunch menu. Starfish & Coffee are an independent neighbourhood café, specialising in brunch dishes. They have won a number of awards over the past few years and pride themselves in using local produce. Last but not least, Café Rust Kemptown. Situated in the heart of Kemptown Village, not far from My Brighton and only a stones throw from the beach. What makes this space different is their collaboration with William Morris Antiques. All antiques within the café are for sale and it makes for an interesting browse each time you visit. The list could go on!

  1. Brighton Beach of course

Head out for a morning stroll from pier to pier and get yourself a coffee and croissant from Flour Pot on the way. Brighton Palace Pier always makes for a unique trip. Gather your coins and head to the arcade, enjoy the many rides or take advantage of the multiple photo opportunities. You must try the famous pier donuts but watch out for the seagulls! Visit the Upside-Down house for even more photo opportunities. The perfect way to end the day is by getting a takeaway drink from one of the local beach bars, and watching the sunset over the West Pier.

  1. An evening of cocktails

Start off at Meanwhile on the ground floor of the hotel, with innovative cocktails using fresh and local ingredients. A few of our local favourites include Bar Valentino which is just a short walk from My Brighton. You’ll find the entrance through the door right next to Tinto Taperia with a speak-easy vibe and relaxing balcony. GungHo! Is another unique local spot. With an ever-changing sustainable cocktail menu and a cosy intimate atmosphere. The Golden Pineapple of Ship Street is another intimate find in The Lanes, serving up a small cocktail list of in-house creations and twists on classics, utilising fresh homemade and seasonal ingredients.

  1. Beach Box Sauna Spa

On Brighton Beach you’ll find the wood-fired public beach sauna. The 3 converted horse trailers all have a unique view of the beach, sea, and Brighton Palace Pier. One of the great things about this is, you can plunge straight into the sea to cool down afterwards. This makes for a completely unique and relaxing experience.

When you mention that you’re staying at My Brighton, you’ll be gifted with one of their unique homemade treatment platters containing a salt scrub and 2 natural face masks, one cleansing and one moisturising and essential oil aroma for the coals.

  1. Make it a shopping trip

Our favourite shopping spot in Brighton (and maybe we’re bias), is North Laine. And luckily for us, we’re in the heart of it. For a full break down of our favourite spots, click here.

From here, head towards the seafront and through the narrow paths of The Lanes. Here you’ll find some incredible jewellers, unique shops such as The Duck House and great places to eat and drink. Why not pick up a doughnut from Urban Legend, an ice cream from Brass Monkey or stop by The Flint House for small plates and excellent wine.

  1. Something a little different

A silent disco walking tour with Boogie Shoes makes for a completely fun and unique experience. Get to see Brighton in a new way whilst singing your heart out.

Enjoy a glass of award-winning English Sparkling Wine from local Sussex Nyetimber whilst enjoying views of the entire city with a flight on the i360.

Just a minute walk from My Brighton you can find Komedia. Here, you can enjoy a night of comedy, cabaret or music. There is always a great show on. Whilst walking through the North Laine, stop off at Photomatic for a retro-styled photobooth snap.
